Questions you may have
Frequently asked questions
How does this relate to tutoring?
Tutoring usually centres on understanding particular course content. We focus on how the student learns: how they question, connect, remember, reflect, and decide what to do next. A school task may provide the starting point. Our services can complement subject tutoring.
Does independence mean less guidance?
Independence develops through appropriate support. Sometimes a learner needs a clear explanation, a model, or a smaller step. We help parents and students consider what support enables the learner to participate more fully now and take on more responsibility over time.
Will this improve grades?
Stronger learning habits can support academic work, but we do not guarantee grade increases or admissions outcomes. Our focus is lasting understanding and the ability to direct and evaluate learning.
Do you assess learning disabilities or provide therapy?
Our services are educational. We do not diagnose learning disabilities or provide mental health treatment. Where specialist support is needed, our work may sit alongside it; suitability should be discussed before beginning.
What happens in a consultation?
We explore the student’s goals and a concrete learning experience, examine their current approach, and identify strategies to practise. The student has an active voice in deciding what would make the work useful.
